Make pipe installation easier from the start
Allowance for full build-up
We size around sleeves, insulation and seals as well as the pipe itself.
Controlled opening edges
Coring limits breakout and damage outside the agreed penetration diameter.
Routes drilled to plan
Horizontal, vertical and angled options follow the intended pipe direction.
Accurate openings around pipes and sleeves
A pipe forced through a rough opening is difficult to seal and rarely looks planned. We core defined penetrations through concrete, brick and masonry, limiting damage outside the required diameter. The core size can allow for the pipe, sleeve, insulation and sealing system rather than matching the bare pipe alone. A straightforward opening through normal concrete for a short pipe can take around 15 to 20 minutes under suitable conditions. Material, depth, reinforcement and access can change that time, so we assess each position before putting it into the programme.

Penetrations aligned with the planned pipe run
We coordinate the drilling point with the pipe installer's route, known services and any available structural information. Depending on the run, we can plan horizontal, vertical or angled drilling. Clear dimensions are important where several layers must pass through the same opening or where a fall must be maintained. We also need details of conditions on the far side, working height and access for the rig. This preparation helps the new pipe arrive where expected, rather than emerging behind an obstruction.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a pipe penetration take to drill?
A simple opening through normal concrete for a short pipe can take about 15 to 20 minutes. This is an example rather than a fixed time. Reinforcement, depth, access, setup and the surrounding work area may change it.
Should the core match the pipe diameter exactly?
Not usually. The specified opening may need room for a sleeve, insulation, movement and the chosen sealing system. We work from the required core diameter supplied by the installer or project design.
Can you drill an angled route for pipework?
Yes, where the material, access and rig position allow it. We need the intended angle, start and finish positions, wall or slab thickness and pipe build-up so we can assess the setup accurately.
