Floor sawing in Westbury with managed dust and slurry

Straight slab cuts. Reinforcement considered. Cut sections planned for safe handling.

Keep slab alterations within the lines

Controlled cut depth

We set the blade and sequence around slab thickness and reinforcement.

Slurry kept in check

Containment measures help stop cutting water and debris spreading unchecked.

Removal considered early

Section size reflects the lifting method and access available after sawing.

Defined slab cuts for routes and removal

When a trench or slab section must follow a straight line, uncontrolled breaking creates more repair work than progress. We use floor sawing to cut concrete slabs for service routes, trenches, planned alterations and defined removal areas. Blade choice and cutting sequence depend on the required depth, reinforcement and stability of the remaining slab. We also consider the size and weight of each section before making the final cut. The result is a controlled boundary that protects more of the surrounding floor and gives the removal stage a clear starting point.

Water, debris and lifting planned in advance

Sawing can create slurry or dust, so containment is part of the setup rather than an afterthought. We plan how water and debris will be managed around the cut and establish a controlled working area. Services within or beneath the slab must be identified as far as project information allows before work begins. Once sections are free, suitable access is needed for lifting and removal equipment. Agreeing that route early prevents freshly cut concrete from becoming a very heavy obstacle in the middle of the job.

Frequently asked questions

What can floor sawing be used for?

We use it for straight cuts in concrete slabs, including service trenches, defined removal sections and planned alterations. Suitability depends on slab depth, reinforcement, support and access for the sawing equipment.

How do you manage slurry from floor cutting?

We plan containment around the cutting line and account for the water and debris produced. The exact controls depend on the surface, drainage, nearby finishes and site rules, so we review these before work starts.

Who lifts the slab sections after sawing?

We agree handling and removal responsibilities as part of the scope. Section dimensions must suit the chosen lifting method and route out. If access for suitable equipment is limited, we may need to adjust the cutting sequence.
