Avoid costly errors around new frames
Allowances built into layout
We follow dimensions that account for frames, lintels and finished thresholds.
Sections removed in order
A planned sequence keeps released wall pieces manageable and supported.
One coordinated scope
Cutting, removal and disposal can be combined where the project requires it.
Cut openings to the specified dimensions
A door or window opening must fit more than the frame on a drawing. Thresholds, lintels, structural details and final making good all affect the finished size. We cut new openings and alter existing ones in concrete or masonry, working to the agreed setting out and design information. Before the saw starts, we confirm the cut lines and plan how the wall will be divided. That preparation protects the remaining edges and avoids producing a single heavy section that cannot be controlled once the last cut is made.

From marked wall to a cleared aperture
The chosen method depends on wall construction, reinforcement, access and any temporary support requirements set by the project design. We may use sawing, drilling or a combination to form the opening and corners. Each section is supported and handled in a planned sequence, with controlled removal and disposal included where agreed. We need clear information about lifting access and the route out of the site. Once finished, the aperture is left ready for the relevant frame installation and making-good stages.
Frequently asked questions
Do you set the opening size for the frame?
We cut to the agreed dimensions supplied through the project design or installer. These should include frame tolerance, threshold, lintel and making-good allowances. We do not guess structural or finished opening sizes on site.
Can you alter an existing door or window opening?
Yes, where the wall construction, design and access allow it. We can trim or enlarge defined areas using the suitable sawing or drilling method, then coordinate controlled removal if this forms part of the scope.
What happens to the wall sections after cutting?
We plan each section around its likely weight, support and handling route. Removal and disposal can follow the cutting where agreed. Any temporary support and structural sequence must be confirmed before we begin.
